Promoting Volunteerism in Ghana #NVDay18

National Volunteer Day (NVDay) taking place during Founders Day and around September 21 since 2013 to promote and encourage volunteerism among Ghanaians. This year NVDay was once again successful with 53 activities registered and many other activities. Personally volunteering has taught and helped me in several ways I never imagined. All I was happy with is making impact and seeing my works benefit and put smiles into peoples hearts. Zanzibar Mapbox Workshop

Right before FOSS4G 2018 closing ceremony I had to join the Open Cities Africa team en route Zanzibar. First time travelling from Dar es Salaam to Stone Town and you know right; ferry of course :D and it was my first ferry ride too. The purpose for travelling to Zanzibar was for a 2 day Mapbox workshop on builing web maps. Thanks to the Zanzibar Mapping Initiative (ZMI) we had great geospatial data from high definition drone images to spreadsheet data combined with yours truly OpenStreetMap for our workshop....
