Four A+F Wikipedia Saturdays in Accra, Ghana

Wikipedia by far is the most used online Encyclopedia by all. I have been contributing volunteer time to Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects; my favourite is WikiData for sometime now. Long story short, we all use and copy Wikipedia but the sad thing is just a handful of us give back; am refering to adding content. If you already don’t know Wikipedia is made by people like you and I who use it everyday....

2018 in Review

re:publica in Accra, Ghana 2018

re:publica the German conference for the internet society was in Accra, Ghana and Africa for the first time this December 2018. I had 2 sessions at re:publica 2018 Open Maps, Open Data: Power of Accessible Geo Data Create, Contribute and Edit: Introduction to Wikidata I spent most my time as a long time member of the Wikimedia Ghana User Group volunteering at our booth engaging and talking to visitors about our movement and what we do....

DigitalTransport4Africa Meetup, Paris

In November 2018, I was privileged to have parcipated in the second DigitalTransport4Africa meet-up and workshop organized by the Agence française de développement (AFD) and it’s partners. Day 0: Nathalie and I finding our way to the nearest KFC My participation in this meetup dates back to mapping of Accra’s trotro with support from the local OpenStreetMap community, Jungle Bus and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly. This meetup also saw the launch of the Beta version of the DigitalTransport4Africa Resource Center: which contains data, information and tools used to accomplish paratransit mapping projects in Africa and around the world....
