National Volunteer Day (NVDay) taking place during Founders Day and around September 21 since 2013 to promote and encourage volunteerism among Ghanaians. This year NVDay was once again successful with 53 activities registered and many other activities. Personally volunteering has taught and helped me in several ways I never imagined. Right before FOSS4G 2018 closing ceremony I had to join the Open Cities Africa team en route Zanzibar. First time travelling from Dar es Salaam to Stone Town and you know right; ferry of course :D and it was my first ferry ride too.
